Spencer and Owen

Cute cute boys!  You and Owen played in the grass with each other while the other kids rode rides at Country Fest.  Owen thought you were a great toy, it's awesome when your toy makes noise when you grab it.  :)  You sat up by him for a bit and then tipped over . . . . or did you get pushed over.  ha ha.  I love that you two get to grow up together, such cute boys!

Well Good Morning there!

Every since you got teeth you've been struggling with sleep.  For a while you were waking up every hour from 10pm to 2am and then again at 4am or 5am.  You've started sleeping a little better and go to bed about 11pm and wake up at 4am and then go back to bed until 7am.  Last night you woke up at 4am and I went into your room and there you were sitting up in your rock n play.  So your rock n play is like a little bassinet and I almost started laughing.  I was afraid you would flip yourself right out so I put you back to sleep and put you in your crib and you made it there the rest of the night.
Tonight, however, you are not amused with the crib and started screaming after a bit when I put you in your crib.  We'll get there, I'm sure, just not sure on the time frame.

Sitting up

You can almost sit up by yourself but still need a little help.  You love chilling in your bumbo but also can't resist eating your feet which makes you slip out a little bit.  The other day I pulled you out and your feet kind stuck in the bumbo and little bit and Blake started cracking up and said, "Whoa he's ninja!"  Blake was so impressed with your ninja skills.

Late Nights

It's 1pm and you and I are still in our pjs.  It's been a rough couple of nights.  Last night you started screaming at 10pm and with a few exceptions didn't stop until 1am.  I was so flustered that I had Brad come home from visiting with his brother at about 10:45.  We took turns with you but nothing seemed to work.  We weren't sure if it's because you have allergies and are having a hard time breathing, or teething, or if it's because I had milk this weekend which I believe you are allergic too.  I'm thinking it might have been the milk and if that was it I feel so bad.  You had a rough night the two nights before as well and by this am I had had it.  I didn't go workout this am even though it's my last week at boot camp because I just couldn't.  Brad decided I really needed some sleep, so he took Spencer on a 3 hour drive while I went back to bed.  Needless to say we are both feeling much better today and at 1pm we are feeling great and ready to start our day!  Here's hoping for a much better night tonight and also I'm so grateful for your awesome dad, you are one lucky boy and I am one lucky girl to have him.  He is amazing!

Growing up

The other day I took you to hobby lobby and thought I'd try sitting you in the cart since I didn't have a stroller.  You were so happy to be in the cart looking around, trying to chew on everything.  They did have the small carts and I did spend most of the time holding onto you so you didn't tip over but it was a first and I can't believe how big you are getting.  Just pushing you around I was thinking wow where did the time go, I can't believe you are approaching 6 months old.  I was thinking how this time last year I was soooooooo sick being pregnant and the time was passing so slowly but now that you are here the time is going by so fast.  I am trying to enjoy every moment with you (well minus the cranky teething ha ha), you are such a joy and a happy baby and we love you.
and speaking of enjoying, can you just not get enough of those beautiful eyes!

Spring

Just enjoying a nice day outside.

Church

You and I spend a lot of time in the mothers room at church.  Usually Owen and Megan are sitting across the room from us but on this day it was just us so I decided to snap some pictures of you in your cute suit sitting with me.

Visiting Granny

Granny was so excited when you were born.  She was excited to meet you, twice!  She met you once but then wasn't very happy that she didn't get to hold you so the next time she saw us she said, "Make sure he's good and fed and happy so I can hold him tonight."  You were happy to have her hold you and she was happy to hold you.

Teething

You have been the best little baby, happy most of the time, smiles for everyone but lately you've been crying and crying and crying.  We had no idea what was going on until we noticed you were teething.  You broke your first tooth through about a week after you turned 4 months old and then they just kept coming.  You got 3 teeth in 3 weeks and it was the saddest thing.  You would be happy in the morning but about noon you would start to cry and you would just cry unless you were eating or sleeping.  They have been rough but it seems like you might be getting a little break.  You are such a little overachiever getting 3 right in a row, I'm hoping with the next group you slack a little and just let them come in one at a time. :)

5 months

I can't believe you are 5 months old, where did the time go?  This last month you have gotten 3 teeth on the bottom.  You have had such a hard time getting teeth, they must hurt so bad.  You have been so cranky and crying out all of the sudden.  You'll be fine and then you'll just cry.  I haven't known what to do with you because it's so sad when you just cry because you are hurting.  We've spent time outside because that seems to distract you and you love being outside, we'll go on a walk or go rock in one of the chairs outside.  I'm hoping you get a break for a while now that you have 3 teeth.  I did get some teething tablets and some gel and so I'm hoping that will help you in the future.
You are rolling all over as well.  You also scoot in a circle around your blanket.  You'll move around to get toys and then if you push it out and you can't get it you get upset.  The other day you got so sad that you through yourself into rolling and you rolled 3 times across the floor.  Braden, Blake, and I were laughing and laughing because it was so funny.  You'll be totally fine and then you can't reach a toy so you get upset and then you'll get the toy and be fine.
You also are starting to push up onto your hands not just your elbow and then you'll lay your head down and push your butt up in the air.  I'm thinking you'll be scooting across the floor in no time but then you'll be able to get your toys.
You still have some baby acne but it seems different than acne so I've been trying to see if it's something I'm eating.  I pulled wheat out of my diet for the last week to see if that's it but I haven't really seen a big difference.  I'm going to try it for two more days and see.  You also have a total sensitivity toward milk.  If I have any dairy you get a rash around your mouth and down your face and then you puke so much, it's like shoot across the room craziness.  I'm hoping you grow out of it.
I also started feeding you solids.  You've had rice cereal and applesauce so far.  You liked the rice cereal at first but lately have been less than impressed with the applesauce.  I'm going to try peas next and see how that goes for you.  I've been worried that you've been so sensitive.
Your brothers are still loving you so much as are dad and I.  We are so blessed to have you in our family.  You are such a sweet little boy and usually so good (as long as you aren't getting teeth).  You mostly sleep through the night.  Usually from 10pm to 7am but last night you went to bed at 10:30 pm, woke up at 11:30 pm and then again at 3:30 pm.  At 3:30 you were just talking and talking, I got up and fed you and put you back to bed and then looked at the clock and it was 4:30.  I wanted to cry because my alarm was set for 4:45 to get up to go to boot camp, then you slept until 7am.  You are usually pretty good at night and you sleep in your rock n play in your room.  We are hoping to transition to the crib this next month.
