A visit from grandma and poppy

This past weekend Grandma Kathee and Poppy came to visit us.  You loved them and smiled for both of them but you were mesmerized by Poppy.  We went out to lunch and for a lot of the time you sat and stared at Poppy across the table.  When he would talk you would just watch him and then smile and talk back.  Towards the end you were a little fussy so Poppy walked you around for a while, while dad and I finished eating.  That night I was holding you and whenever Poppy would talk you would stop what you were doing and smile and talk and talk.  Poppy would stop talking and you would just stare at him and then he would start talking and you would smile and talk and talk again.  You started to cry and then Poppy started talking and you would stop crying and talk.  It was so funny!  You just love Poppy and he loves you just as much!  So fun to have fabulous grandparents on both sides, not to mention all those aunts and cousins that love you so much!

A trip to the ZOO

We took you to the zoo to catch up with Blake on his kindergarten field trip.  You were such a good boy and just played in your stroller the entire time we were there.  You loved having us push you around and just smiled the entire time.  You are such a happy boy and we sure love you!

So I noticed when you were two weeks old that you started to breakout, like extreme breakout but it was baby zits and also these red dots down your back and neck.  I read somewhere that if a baby breaks out before 3 weeks old and if it's that extreme it's probably a milk allergy.  When I realized that I stopped drinking milk and took dairy out of my diet and it seemed to help with the rash and your spitting up.  After a while I decided to make sure so I had milk and sure enough the rash was back and you were spitting like a faucet.  So I've been off milk and dairy since, okay occasionally I'll have some cheese but mostly I don't.  Anyway, yesterday you were super cranky and you were barfing and I didn't know what was up.  I finally realized that since I started bootcamp this week I'd been drinking protein shakes that are whey based.  Well sure enough I quit drinking those and no more spitting up.  I'm so hopeful that by staying away from milk now you won't be allergic to it later on.  You were so miserable yesterday and just cried and cried and then would spit like crazy.  When I realized what it was I felt so bad.
Luckily today you are back to your happy self.  You took a 3 hour nap this afternoon and then we went to watch Braden play baseball and you were happy as can be there.  You came home and ate and played and then went to sleep at 9pm.  You sleep in your own room now but you are still in the rock n play, not in your crib yet.  I decided to wait until you are content to sleep in your own room before I move you to your crib.
You are such a joy and we all love you so much.  I'm so glad you came to our family and feel so blessed to have you.  You are starting to grab things now and love your toys.  We got you a saucer that you love and your brothers love to play with you in it.  The other night at FHE you were talking so loud every time I would start the lesson.  I would start talking and you would screech and so I would stop and everyone would laugh, I'd start again and then you would start talking and everyone would laugh.  It was so funny!  We are enjoying you talking more and more these days.
I had you on the counter the other day while Blake and I were eating lunch.  Blake and I were talking about how you roll over from stomach to back but not really from back to stomach and about a minute later you rolled from your back to stomach towards me.  No more laying on the counter I guess, although I was right by you to hold you, I just had you there so Blake and I could eat.

Four months old

Wow, you just keep growing!  I can't believe you are already 4 months old.  You continue to be such a happy baby and we all love you so much.  You were sleeping through the night until we went to your 4 month check up.  Between the 2 vaccinations and you starting to get a tooth you've been getting up at 3am every morning and again at 5am.  I was liking the 7 hours of sleep so much more than this intermittent sleep.  You are a happy boy and will smile when people talk to you.  You love to be outside and love to go on walks in your stroller.  We walk to take the boys to school in the morning and again to pick up Blake mid day and you just look around, chat, or sleep.
Aunt Abby made you this shirt (along with all the other month ones).  Originally it was red but we let Owen borrow it and he barfed on it and when Megan washed it it faded to pink.  I laughed because you had some of Owen's clothes and I was telling Megan how you had pooped on one outfit and I couldn't get the stain out and she said, "Well I guess we are even because I washed his 4 month onsie and now it's pink."
