I tried
There was the cutest picture on pintrest of a baby boy just wearing a tie. I decided to try it . . . . my bad! I probably should have waited until Spencer was completely asleep so I didn't shock his little body every time I lifted the blanket off. He looks so skinny in some of these and even though they weren't what I was going for (I'll have to try again) they sure do make me laugh.

First bath
I washed your hair yesterday but didn't give you a bath. I was laughing so hard because you were awake and the minute I started rubbing the water on your head you were in a total relaxed state just totally content to lay there and have me rub your head. Just like your momma! :) Later that night I gave you a bath but couldn't get you in the water so you didn't love it. I ran to the store with your dad and when I got back Braden was laughing because you had peed on him, on yourself, on your blanket and a little on the couch. Braden had mostly cleaned it up and he had even changed your diaper. What a good big brother he is!
I'm pretty sure once your umbilical cord falls off and we can put you in water, I think you'll be just as content and love it. It's so fun for me to have a baby in our house again, I was nervous to start over but I really can't imagine life without you in it. You are such a joy and I'm so happy to have you!
Wide awake
This morning you were wide awake for about an hour. The boys were all at school and so I just sat in the living room and played with you. You are such a handsome boy! I sent one of these pictures out to all your aunts and they all responded with how cute you are and how much they love you. You are one lucky boy!

Birth = weight 6 lbs 13 oz 21 in long and beautiful
3 days = weight 6 lbs 9 oz
6 days = weight 6 lbs 10 oz
2 weeks = weight 7 lbs 5 oz height 20.9 in (yep you shrunk apparently) head 13.9"
2 months = weight 11 lbs 3 oz (25%) height 23 in (50%) head 15.4 (50%)

First Smile - 5 weeks old, I tried and tried and tried to get you to smile. Finally at 5 weeks you smiled a couple times and by 6 weeks you were smiling every morning after you had had sleep, been fed, and changed. Happy as ever!
First laugh 6 weeks old, you giggle a little bit but you haven't burst out into lots of laughter yet.
Rolled Over 3 1/2 months You rolled over for Braden. He was so excited he brought you in to show Brad and I and you did it again twice. You don't spend much time on the floor so you haven't rolled over a lot since. Every once in a while we'll put you on your stomach on the floor and wait until you roll. You are a pretty content little boy and are happy to be on your tummy, you lift your head up and talk to us until you roll or get tired of being on the floor and then you cry and someone picks you up.
First tooth - 4 months old, you had such a hard time getting your two front bottom teeth. You were so cranky and would be fine and then just scream out because you were hurting. You didn't sleep very good and ran a low fever. I felt so bad but lucky thing it didn't last long and then you were happy again and had two little teeth poking through.
Scooted - 6 1/2 months old, you scooted across the floor at the cabin to get a water bottle. You roll all over and can pretty much get to anything you want. It's the cutest thing, you push your head down and then scoot with your legs. When we got home you tried it here but weren't impressed with the wood floor and how hard it was on your head.
Teething - You got 3 teeth at 4 months old and then at 6 months old Brad and I looked in your mouth and you had another tooth. You have three on the bottom and then you have one on the opposite side on the top. So funny you little jack-o-lantern you! By 7 months you have 8 teeth.
Crawled - 7 months you started crawling and never looked back.
Sat up - You started sitting up at 6 months but were still a little wobbly, by 7 months you could sit yourself up from a crawling position. You still sometimes get carried away with a toy and fall backwards but for the most part you are great! Moving all over!
Pulled up on furniture - 8 months, by 9 months you were pulling up on everything you possibly could.
Stood up in crib - 9 months
There is a firetruck toy that has a bucket on top and you can launch things in the bucket. You think it is the funniest thing when we launch anything and you giggle and giggle. I think it's so funny! (8mo)
Took a step - at 11 months you took a step to grandpa Tom but wouldn't take a step to anyone else. If I tried to get you to you would immediately sit down. At 12 months you are taking a few steps to us but mostly like to walk only if someone is holding your hand. At 13 months you've started to let go of the couch and take a step toward a toy but only one step. I keep thinking you'll take off walking any day now so we will see.
12 months - you play patty cake, blow kisses, point to mom's nose, clap for yay!, and dance, you also wave goodbye but you usually wait until the person isn't watching or we've walked out the door. :)
Walked - you've been threatening to walk for a little while but haven't taken off, but while we were in Idaho visiting gram after gramps passed away you decided to walk across the room. It was a much needed distraction and brought a smile to everyone's face. Once you decided you could walk you would take off but sometimes get so excited you would fall straight onto your face.

First weight check
In order for you to be released from the NICU we had to have a follow up weight check on Saturday. You did great! 6 lbs 9 oz, what a champ! This was the first time that dad held you because he's been so sick and because mom is not very good at sharing! He cried a bit with you in his arms, so cute!You also got checked for billi rubin and had to have your heel pricked again. You were not happy about that at all! You came home with 3 band aides on your feel from getting pricked at the NICU and I think you'd had about enough.
The office called later that afternoon to tell us that your billi rubin counts were high (16) so you needed to go under a lamp and blanket. I almost cried on the phone because they said you had to be under it 24 hours a day and only come out for feeding. I felt like I wasn't getting to hold you at all and the time goes by so fast. You were so good in the billi bed, you didn't sleep very good at night in it but mostly you were fine in the day. Sunday we took you to Riverton hospital to get your heel pricked again for labs. I had you in the billi bed still and just sat on the couch or next to you waiting to hear from the doctor. He called at about 9pm and told me you could come out of the lamp (levels were at 11) but that you needed to go back in tomorrow in case the billi rubin rebounded. I was thrilled that you could come out at night. I took you out immediately and just held you. Such a sweet boy. Monday you went back in the bed for the day and then Tuesday I took you to meet Dr. Johnson, your pediatrician, he looked you over and said you were doing great. You got your heel pricked again and this nurse took 2 viles "just in case our machine doesn't work." I was thinking I'm gonna "just in case you" right over your head! Your levels were even lower (9) and you were good to go. I was so happy! You are such a sweet baby and I can just feel the peace you bring and your sweetness when I hold you. I am so glad you are doing good!
Baby in the house!
I forgot how laundry piles up even in the night when you have a baby in the house. Last night you peed on my, your blanket, and your jammies, so the next morning we had this pile of laundry.Also, at night I always change the babies diaper and then toss them to be picked up in the morning. I taught Abby this as well and Rob thinks I'm a genius because of it, ha ha actually he doesn't get it. If I leave them then I know how many diapers you had at night. Blake has the "big brother job" of coming in and counting the diapers, throwing them away, and then writing the number on a chart that Blake made for his little brother.
