8 months

8 months old, you are growing so fast and are the sweetest baby.  We realized you have reflux and since you've been taking colic calm you've been an angel.  You are still obsessed with your tongue and obviously super drooly! :)

California here we come

While the other boys were at swimming lessons Brad and I decided to take a trip to California with you.  We went to Disneyland and then drove up to Santa Cruz and then into San Fransisco for a couple days and then back to Disneyland and then flew home.  You were a trooper most of the way.  You were content to ride in your stroller and look at all the people in Disneyland.  Cars land had just opened and it was so cute, we love Disneyland so even though we didn't ride a lot of rides we were able to walk around and see everything.  You did great in the car until right before we got to Santa Cruz.  On the way home we left in the late afternoon and at bedtime you cried and cried and cried.  We stopped a couple times to get you out and feed you and let you play but the moment you got back in your seat you started crying.  I sat in the back with you trying to console you but nothing seemed to work.  Finally I let you play with my hair and you settled right down and went to sleep.  You are so funny with your hair obsession.  On the drive to San Fransisco we stopped in Oakland for an As game.  I forgot to bring you a hat and it was soooooo hot outside and so bright so we bought you this cute little As hat.  We biked across the Golden Gate Bridge and Brad pulled you in the baby bike carrier, you loved it and then ended up sleeping most of the way.  On the flight home they upgraded us to first class so on your 2nd flight you flew first class.  It was awesome since we had way more room for you to play.  You did great on both flights.

Big Brothers

You are so lucky to have 3 great big brothers.  Blake lately has been wanting to hold you all the time.  He will ask me if he can hold you and I always say, "If Spencer wants you to hold him that's fine."  Sometimes you do and sometimes you just would rather he play with you.  He'll hold you and then laugh and giggle when you grab his hair or slobber on him.  He is also very good at playing with you and sets up towers for you to knock down.  Such cuties!

Cute boy

Not so Sleepy

You slept great for the first 4 months.  After a while you were sleeping 6-7 hours a night in your rock n play but then you started sitting up in it and so we had to move you to your crib.  You also started getting teeth and that's where the sleeping ended.  I thought it was because of teeth but after 3 1/2 months of rocking you while you squirmed and being up all night with you in the rocker.  You were waking up every 1-2 hours at night.  Brad would take you for a walk at 10 at night to get you to settle down and fall asleep.  He took you out in the backpack or in the stroller and you would sleep for a couple hours when you got home.  You would only nap in your carseat in the car.  We were getting so frustrated and weren't sure what was up.  I had figured out when you were a month old that if I drank milk you barfed like crazy.  I attributed it to an allergy to milk but it turns out when we looked into it further you have reflux.  Brad was looking at all the symptoms online and both of us were like well obviously he has it.  Which is why you slept so much better when you were upright.  We found a natural medicine to give you and the results were amazing.  You were able to settle down and just lay in my arms while I rocked you, you slept longer through the night and last night you slept from 10 to 6:30.  Amazing what sleep can do!  I'm so glad we figured this out and that you are a much more content little baby.

7 months old

I can't believe you are 7 months old, time has flown by!  You are still the sweetest baby, always happy and enjoying everything!  You love your brothers and smile and laugh when they play with you.  Braden loves to give you shoulder rides even though I'm not to thrilled about it and constantly tell him not to hold you up like that.  You love being on his shoulders so you can eat his hair.  I don't think I've mentioned that yet but you are so fascinated with hair, you love it.  You have pulled my hair so much that I now have layers in the front even though when you were born I had hair all the same length, a big thank you to you for the unwanted layers you little stinker.  When we were at the cabin you were crying while Mellonee, Melissa, and I drove to the lake with you.  Finally Melissa just laid her head down in your car seat and you went crazy over her hair.  You quit crying and just played with her hair.  You love to have it in your hands and it's all tangled up and then you put it in your mouth.  We are at Mellonee's house this week and she has these pillows with long fringe on them and you sit and talk to them and pull on the fringe and are just in love with them.  It makes me laugh so much!
You are starting to like food.  I couldn't really get you to eat much baby pureed food but decided to try regular food.  You ate eggs, barley soup, grapes, and half a banana this week.  You are loving being able to eat the same thing that the rest of us are eating.  I'm loving that you are finally eating since it seemed so crazy that you weren't interested yet.
You aren't such a great sleeper and have been waking up all night.  You end up in bed with dad and I.  Plus you are a night owl.  You haven't been going to bed until 11pm and then you sleep in your own bed until 2am and then you are in my bed until you wake up.  You aren't great at naps and just sleep 20 minutes here and there.
You got some more teeth and are now up to 8 teeth and you love to rub your tongue against your teeth so it's in and out of your mouth all the time.  Sometimes you smile with your tongue hanging out, it cracks me up.

You started crawling and also can sit yourself up.  You love exploring and playing with toys. You also love swimming, dad dunked you under the water and you weren't so suew about that but you didn't cry.
